One more long ride and then I taper

It was August 2025 that I had the idea to ride from Lands End to John O'Groats for the most amazing animal rescue called Stray Cat Rescue Team WM.  They will take the cats that other charities won't. They take the hardest cases. They take the ones that charities are going to put to sleep, just like my boy Jasper.

They put their hearts and souls into caring for these cats and ensuring they get the best homes. Please check them out on Facebook. They really are special. 

I have been putting in some miles around this tiny Island. It does get a bit "samey". Sometimes I go around a particular circuit numerous times. I find ways to make rides more interesting.  Guernsey is beautiful and on a nice day, the good weather helps.

Saturday I did a 6 hr ride and I plan to do one more 5 or 6 hour ride, hopefully Friday and then I will begin my 2 week taper, which basically means doing no more than 3 hr rides, and some 2 hr rides just to tick over.  Overall, my weeks have comprised anything up to 24 hours of riding.

Here is Jasper. He was nearly put to sleep by a big rescue but this lad loves life. He has the most impressive ears and long legs. A real character. If you meet him, he will want to be your friend.
